- Sketchy CAD
A specific subset of use cases that revolve around using pen & paper in contexts such as woodworking, gardening, interior design, architecture or engineering.
A lot of these activities involve some on-paper sketching, as well as basic geometric problem solving and back-of-the napkin math.
We’ve been referring to this as ‘Sketchy CAD’, to distinguish it from ‘Trad CAD’, which is typically hyper-formal and rigid.
Some existing sketchy CAD tools that are worth looking into include:
- Morpholio trace, an iPad app geared specifically towards architects, landscape architects and interior designers.
- Feather, an iPad app that allows you to draw in 3D.
